Dynamic Life Institute: Bread, Cells & Biotechnology

Middle school teachers explore yeast as a bio-system and how the process of bread making can be used to demonstrate biotechnology principles as well as support the learning of classical life science concepts.

Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Institute for Educators
July 22 – 24 and July 27 – 28
For grade 6 – 12 educators

Learn the skills necessary to develop and deliver a technology and engineering course that meets the Massachusetts Framework. Participants collaboratively design a course syllabus and units, employing a student outcome-based approach.

ENGINEERING IS ELEMENTARY

Apply to field test an EiE unit and attend a workshop on Saturday, May 30 at 9:00 a.m.

Participants will receive a stipend, teacher guide, kit, and classroom set of storybooks (worth approximately $500).
