Museum of Science
Join us on Tuesday, October 18 for the Fall 2011 Women in Science Luncheon, "The Strange Family Across the Street" and Other Coming-of-Age Stories, with Dr. Yolonda Colson, Director of the Women's Lung Cancer Program, Brigham and Women's Hospital.
The event includes a seated luncheon and presentation by Dr. Colson with a question and answer period to follow.
Dr. Colson will discuss her research focus in the development of unique mechanisms of polymer and nanoparticle drug delivery aimed at preventing cancer recurrence, the investigation of novel methods to identify hidden tumors that have spread to nearby lymph nodes, and lessons learned in her journey from a farm in rural Minnesota to becoming a cardiothoracic surgeon at Harvard.

Women in Science Luncheon Series
Created by a group of women affiliated with the Museum of Science as trustees, overseers, and donors, this unique forum enables an audience of interested women to hear about the research and life experiences of distinguished female scientists and engineers, exchange ideas, and make lasting connections.
Through stimulating conversations and active engagement with science and engineering professionals, the biannual Women in Science Luncheon Series encourages young women to pursue careers in the sciences. It also contributes to the Museum's goal of helping adults become more informed about the concepts and tools we all need to navigate our rapidly evolving technological world.
