Born into slavery, George Washington Carver became a trailblazing scientist whose experiments with plants laid the groundwork for today's research on plant-based fuels, medicines, and everyday products. A true humanitarian, his persistence and compassion nourished a lifelong mission to bring practical knowledge to those in need.
